Over the years, we’ve had the opportunity to take on various mural projects, each bringing a unique story and experience to our creative journey.
Our first mural was also our largest—a sprawling artwork at Avenue K, where we illustrated the diverse landscape of Malaysia in our signature style. It was a challenging but rewarding experience, setting the stage for future projects.
One of our notable collaborations was with Lyf Hotel in Raja Chulan, where we brought entire walls to life.
Some murals were hand-painted in public spaces, while others were printed to fit the interiors seamlessly. Each piece added a touch of our personality to the hotel’s vibrant atmosphere.
However, despite the satisfaction and joy of creating murals, we’ve learned that these projects aren’t always feasible for us as a studio.
Mural painting can be time-consuming, and most clients lean towards wall sticker printing because it’s more cost-effective. While renowned street artists like Cloakwork and Kenji Chai command premium prices for their murals, the broader market rarely offers the same value to studio-driven mural work.
For us, mural projects make sense when they serve as a break—a chance to step away from our screens and immerse ourselves in the pure act of painting. It’s a time when the team can unwind, reconnect, and let creativity flow without the constraints of digital tools.
There’s something incredibly liberating about painting without “undo” buttons, just raw, dripping paint on the wall.
These moments are our zen.
Each mural we create holds a special memory, known only to those who worked on it.
I can still recall the stories behind every brushstroke and every mural we’ve done. It’s not just about the art on the wall; it’s about the laughter, conversations, and music that fill the air while we paint.
Currently, we’re working on another mural for KLCG Cafe in Ampang. It’s another opportunity for us to step out of the office, enjoy each other’s company, and bring something new to life. As we paint, we’re reminded of why we love these projects—it’s not just the finished piece but the journey of creating it together.
Every mural we complete is a piece of our story, filled with shared memories, smiles, and sometimes, the simple joy of a paintbrush in hand.
It’s these moments that remind us of the magic of what we do—art that isn’t just seen but felt, by us and by everyone who gets to experience it. Here’s to many more walls, more paint, and more beautiful moments together.
