As we move into 2025, it’s exciting to look at how the illustration industry is changing.
2024 was full of different projects where we worked with all kinds of clients. Some wanted custom designs for their brands, while others were more interested in working directly with artists.
These two types of projects were evenly split last year, which is a big change from when we first started.
Artist Collaborations Are Growing
In Malaysia, more and more clients want to work with artists to add something special to their seasonal campaigns and limited-edition products.
This started happening more after the pandemic and shows that people value the unique style and influence artists bring.
But there’s a tricky side to this.
Clients often tell us these collaborations are more for marketing than for making direct sales. While it’s great for creating buzz and building brand image, it might not last forever.
Even so, we think this trend will keep growing for now because it helps brands stand out.
Illustrations Are Everywhere in Branding
Another big trend is businesses using illustrations in lots of different ways.
In 2024, we saw more brands using illustrations on their packaging, brand guides, and other media.
We also got more inquiries from businesses who wanted to make illustration a key part of their brand.
People are starting to see illustrations in their branding language.
More Work, But Tight Budgets
There are more projects now, but budgets haven’t grown much.
For us, this means finding smart ways to create amazing art while staying within those limits. It’s not easy, but it pushes us to be more creative and efficient.
Looking Ahead to 2025
Our mission hasn’t changed: we want to make work that matters.
In 2025, we’re focusing on finding our voice in the industry and creating art that’s unique and meaningful. Whether it’s through artist collaborations or branding projects, we want to inspire and leave a lasting impression.
The illustration world keeps evolving, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.
Here’s to a year of creativity, growth, and exciting collaborations in 2025!
